Bree and Norrington-Davies are both fit for Luton's trip to Rotherham

Luton boss Nathan Jones has been handed a huge boost with the news that full backs Rhys Norrington-Davies and James Bree are fit for tomorrow night's trip to Rotherham United.

Norrington-Davies was forced off at half time during Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Brentford at Kenilworth Road, with Jones worried afterwards that the Welsh international might have pulled his hamstring.

However, that is not the case as speaking to the press this afternoon, the Town chief said: "We’re not as bad now as we thought we were.

"Rhys came off but it's just fatigue, it's not pulled or anything, so that's pleasing.

"Rhys has played a lot of football which is the real problem and we’ve got to keep rolling him out at times, but we're in a better position.

"On Saturday you’re looking at it and thinking 'we’ve got four fit defenders,' that’s not quite true now, we have a bit more competition and thankfully Rhys didn’t pull anything."

There was also good news on Bree who has been restricted to just two substitute appearances so far in the league and one Carabao Cup start after making a permanent switch from Aston Villa in the summer.

His last action came during the 2-1 win over Derby County on September 19, injuring his knee when making a block tackle, as Jones continued: "He opened up his medial, I’ve had a medial injury myself, they’re very niggly, a tricky injury.

"He’s come back, he’s been running, sprinting, doing everything, had a full week’s training, it’s just sometimes it can be tricky, so he's back in contention.

“If selected Rhys is available and so is Bree, so it’s good."

Jones had stated following the defeat at the weekend that he might be looking to recall defender Peter Kioso from his loan spell at League Two Bolton Wanderers, but the return of Bree appears to have lessened any need to do that.

The boss said: "A decision won’t be made yet, we’ve got two months left before the window opens and we can consider doing that.

"I think it’s actually later as it’s around about the 12th or 13th (of January) his loan agreement is up for review, so we won’t make any decisions yet, but if we had a crisis then we would have no problem.

"He’s done well at Bolton, a good club, he went there for the reasons that he’s actually fulfilling, so we won‘t be too hasty in doing that."

Finally, Jones wasn't giving anything away regarding the chances of attacker Harry Cornick making a welcome return to the first team squad against the Millers, having not featured since the 2-0 defeat at home to Stoke last month.

He added: "We’re in a stronger position squad wise, I don’t want to give too much away because Harry might not be fit, but we’re in a better position in terms of injuries.

"We’ve got a lot of fatigue, there's been a lot of games and that’s not going to change, because two games in the space of three days, so we’re going to have to use our squad.

"Hopefully we’ll have one more two more available from Saturday.
