Luton boss Nathan Jones revealed that midfielder Glen Rea missed yesterday’s 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday due to a broken nose suffered against Millwall.

The 26-year-old required treatment during Tuesday night’s 2-0 reverse against the Lions after picking up the knock in an aerial collision before the interval.

He was then absent from the starting line-up at Hillsborough as speaking afterwards, Jones said: “It’s still been a traumatic week for us this week with Glen going down, Harry Cornick not available and it shows that we have good depth in the squad.

“He took one in the hooter and just too painful.

"He broke his nose, tried to put a mask on, but it was too difficult.

"It's not like he's in the team for his silky wide skills, if you take away heading ability and his desire to really go and put his head on it then it's difficult for us to put him.

“So it was just a game too early after Millwall, he really did put his body on the line for Millwall but it was just too soon.”
