Town defender Martin Cranie will once again be missing from tomorrow's Championship clash against QPR after picking up a calf injury.

The 34-year-old has made 17 appearances so far this season, but was absent from Luton's 1-0 FA Cup third round win over Reading on Saturday.

He will remain unavailable when the Hatters return to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night, as boss Nathan Jones said: "He’s got a bit of a calf strain and we never really push Cranes because when he does play, he does so well for us.

"We’ve managed him, we've got a lot of games out of him to be fair and we need to do that.

"So with James Bree coming back, it wasn't a necessity to push and with getting Peter (Kioso) in the building and having Gaby (Osho) who can play there as well, we’re well stocked."

Although Bolton boss Ian Evatt stated that one player in the Town squad was apparently suffering with long Covid symptoms, it appears that isn't Cranie, although Jones understandably didn't offer any names beforehand.

When asked if he had a fully fit squad to choose from, the Luton chief continued: "Near enough, we have a decent squad, good depth.

"One or two little niggles after the weekend but we should be in a decent place."
