Luton's Championship clash against Preston North End could take place in front of an empty Kenilworth Road on Saturday due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

According to a report in The Times newspaper, with the government set to move to the “delay” stage of its action plan to deal with the spread of the virus, that could see Premier League and Football League games all played behind closed doors.

A meeting is due to be held to discuss the matter today, with the Times also reporting that, for supporters of clubs in the EFL, including Luton, ticket holders will be allowed to watch matches on iFollow streams, with no games be shown in pubs to avoid congregation of people.

No matches are expected to be postponed, to ensure the season finishes in May, but around the world, the schedule has been affected with all Italian sport postponed until April 3, La Liga following suit this morning, with a two week cancellation, after the Real Madrid players were placed in quarantine.
