The EFL Championship season will be able to continue despite the country being placed into lockdown once more this evening.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the new restrictions in a television address to the nation, in an attempt to combat the spread of coronavirus, with measures expected to last until mid-February at the earliest.

However, Elite sport can continue behind closed doors, with the second tier of English football deemed in that category, along with the Premier League, League One, League Two and the National League.

Luton's game against QPR last weekend was postponed due to a number of senior Hatters players testing positive for the virus, but their FA Cup clash against Reading this Saturday is still scheduled to go ahead.
