Connolly can’t wait for Portugal trip

New Town signing Paul Connolly is looking forward to getting to know the rest of the Hatters squad during the club’s annual pre-season training camp in Portugal this week.

Luton’s players are flying out today and will be put through their paces by fitness coach Dave Richardson in the Algarve.

Speaking exclusively to the News/Gazette, Connolly said: “I was really happy to have got the deal sorted so I can go away today, have a real good week out there and get to know everybody.

“It’s going to be hard with the heat, but I’m quite fit anyway and more importantly, I think the best way to get to know everybody and for them to get to know me is on tour, as you live and breathe with everyone.

“Sometimes I don’t look forward to pre-season tours, because they’re very, very hard, but for this one, so can’t wait.”
