Luton attacker Harry Cornick has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for June after his cracking strike against Leeds United.

The 25-year-old was on target after 50 minutes of the clash at Elland Road, racing on to Ryan Tunnicliffe's excellent pass and then holding off Ben White before curling a wonderful strike beyond Illan Meslier and into the top corner.

He faces competition from Middlesbrough's Marcus Tavernier and Fulham's Cyrus Christie for their goals against Stoke City and QPR respectively.

On the goal, the nomination read: "The lone Luton attacker as he chased onto a pass, Cornick was happy to go solo, squaring up a defender before opening up his stance to curl a delightful shot into the far top corner."

Voting is open from this morning and closes tomorrow, with the winner announced on Friday.
