Crawley Green are held
CRAWLEY Green twice surrendered the lead as they drew 2-2 at Langford in Molten Spartan SML Division One on Tuesday night.
Green were awarded a penalty after six minutes and amazingly scored after the fourth attempt.
First, Robbie O’Dell netted, but encroachment by both teams led to a retake.
O’Dell’s second effort was saved by Grant Beckwith but the referee ordered it to be taken again, before he blasted his next attempt over.
The officials still weren’t happy and after a good deal of argument, Jamie Warne took over and planted the ball firmly past Beckwith to make it 1-0.

O’Dell and Lee Hayward both went close to extending Crawley’s lead but Langford hit back after 28 minutes when Terry Bennion conceded a penalty and Kim Forsythe made no mistake from the spot.
Crawley regained the lead after 42 minutes as Stuart Strange’s cross was headed back by Gary Capehorn for Hayward to score.
An error by Nick Nolan let in Paul Garrett though and he made it 2-2 at the break.
In the second half, Sam Peverall and Hayward went close, but neither side could find a winner. This weekend, Crawley visit Cranfield United in the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy.
