Dance still quietly confident

HATTERS: Luton are still ‘quietly confident’ of being successful in their goal of winning promotion this season despite now trailing leaders Wrexham by nine points.

Town may have once again thrown away a 1-0 lead as they were pegged back by Cambridge United on Saturday as the game ended 1-1, but Dance was still upbeat about Luton’s chances this season.

He said: “We’re positive. We know within ourselves we are good enough to be there or thereabouts and whoever finishes above us we will feel rightly deserves to win the league. But we are still comfortable. I know we are far into the season and we would like to be higher up with more points. I think it’s coming and we are still quietly confident.”

Worryingly the Hatters have struggled against many of the other top sides this season, but Dance wasn’t too concerned and believes there are still plenty of twists and turns yet to come. He added: “Ideally we would like to be taking more points off teams around us, but it’s a long old season. Form dips and comes for certain teams and certain teams haven’t had a dip yet and it has to come for them because that’s football. We just hope to be in and around it when that happens.”
