Dartford hopeful of causing Luton upset

Dartford assistant boss Paul Sawyer believes his side can continue their upturn in form against Luton today.

After winning 2-1 at Kidderminster and drawing 3-3 with Cambridge, tThe Princes Park told the News Shopper: “Luton is going to be really, really tough.

“They’re up there for a reason and they’re signing players again this week.

“We go into the game believing we can get something out of it.

“They’re a very good team, John Still’s teams are always very organised.”

Hatters can make it 21 league games unbeaten after breaking their own club record during the 3-0 win over Nuneaton on Saturday as Sawyer added: “When teams are on good runs, you know those runs will come to an end at some stage.

“Cambridge have been on a great run, we took a point from them on Saturday and they lost last night.

“Things can change very quickly.

“The teams at the top are under a different sort of pressure than what we are under.

“We go into the Luton game with plenty of belief and hopefully we can get a result.”

Town dup Alex Wall and Jim Stevenson are both ineligible to play against Hatters, but Cambridge United loanees Andy Pugh Back and Rory McAuley are back after sitting out the 3-3 draw against their contracted club.

The Darts also snapped up striker Mikel Suarez from Conference South club Tonbridge Angels during yesterday’s transfer deadline day, and also added former Newport County winger Ben Swallow earlier in the window.
