The 20-year-old Port Vale defender featured 10 times for the Valiants last year, but hadn’t figured since April 9.

After moving to Luton on loan last Thursday, he was thrown in from the start against Staines Town at the weekend and complete his second 90 minutes in the replay last night.

Davis, who was being watched by Vale boss Micky Adams during Town’s 2-0 win at Kenilworth Road, said: “I’ve been waiting to get out for a while now, and it’s a breath of fresh air to come here and play compettive football.

“The manager (Micky Adams) said Luton have come in for you, it’s a massive club, no-one’s turning that down.”

Hatter are yet to concede a goal with Davis in the side and he is now hoping to play his way into Town’s first team for the upcoming Skrill Premier matches.
