Dees victorious but Luton Rugby fall to Ampthill

LUTON Rugby battled hard but lost 32-3 at near neighbours Ampthill in National League Three London & South East on Saturday. Jake Harris kicked their only points.

Luton visit league leaders Canterbury this weekend and face Ampthill again in the East Midlands Senior Cup final at Goldington Road, home of the Bedford Blues, on Wednesday.

A superb performance from Dunstablians saw them beat Northampton Old Scouts 40-24 in their Midlands Two East South clash at the weekend.

There were tries for Tom Evans, Duncan Holmes, Gavin Denning, Stuart Hall and Joe Murphy, while the latter also kicked 15 points. Stuart Calder was red-carded but that couldn’t stop Dees from triumphing. Dunstablians travel to Stockwood Park this weekend.

A Jason Carr penalty was all Stockwood Park had to show for their efforts as they lost 29-3 at Bugbrooke in Midlands Two East South on Saturday.

Park host rivals Dees this weekend.

Vauxhall Motors were well beaten 50-3 at Leighton Buzzard IVs in their Waggledance Merit League top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.

Dave Collins kicked their only points and Motors host second bottom Rushden & Higham IIIs this weekend.
