Defender leaves Hatters

DEFENDER Luke Graham has left Luton Town and headed back to Kettering, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 25-year-old was signed by former boss Richard Money on the final day of the January transfer window in a loan deal until the end of the season.

In his five months with Luton, Graham made 14 appearances, but only four starts in the league campaign that ended with defeat in the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off final to AFC Wimbledon, where he was on the bench.

He did score the winner in Town’s 1-0 FA Trophy victory over Gloucester City, but couldn’t dislodge the centre-half pairing of George Pilkington and Zdenek Kroca, as Hatters assistant manager Alan Neilson said: “That has now run out, he’s gone back to Kettering and he’s a Kettering player again now.

“Luke Graham is a great player, but his loan’s run out, so we’ve moved on now. We’ve got (Dean) Beckwith and we think he’ll be a great signing for us.”
