Luton defender Dan Potts has finally been given the all-clear to resume training with the first team again.

The 26-year-old has been out for over four months after picking up a foot injury towards the back end of last season, not featuring in a game since the 1-1 draw with QPR on July 14.

He had to then undergo a minor operation on his groin for an issue that wasn’t diagnosed properly, leaving boss Nathan Jones frustrated over the delay, but with the international break passing, Potts is now fully involved at the Brache once more.

Jones said: “Finally we’ve got the all-clear with him.

"It’s been a long process and frustrating for him, but we’ve managed to get a point where it’s now thumbs up.

"We’re glad as he’s done well for us Dan, it’s good to be able to welcome him back into the group.”

There was also good news for fellow full back James Bree, who had missed almost two months of the campaign with a knee problem, making his return as a second half substitute in the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield last time out.

Jones added: “We just needed to give him a bit of game-time, psychological game time more than anything because without being disrespectful, an U23 game, or a physical session with us, they’re pretty similar.

"So we wanted to give him just a mental boost really, he trained fully this week, so again available for selection.”
