Luton can go into today’s Championship clash at Cardiff City full of confidence, according to in-form midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The on-loan Leicester City playmaker has produced two outstanding performances in the recent 1-1 draws against Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City this week, and will be hoping to continue in that same vein if selected in Wales this afternoon

Although the Bluebirds were tipped to build on their fifth-place finish from last season, where they lost in the play-offs to eventual winners Fulham, it hasn't happened so far for Neil Harris’s side, as they sit 18th in the table, five points behind Town.

On the game, Dewsbury-Hall said: “They’re a really good Championship team.

"They invest in good quality players so it is going to be a different test than it was tonight (Tuesday) but we will analyse it this week, put a good couple of days training in then we will go there full of confidence knowing that we can definitely get a result away from home.”

Since Dewsbury-Hall has joined the club, Town have continued their impressive start to the season, to sit 11th, just four points adrift of a top six berth.

Although they were held to back-to-back draws at Kenilworth Road since returning from the international break, the 22-year-old insists there is real belief for Town to be challenging in the top half this term, despite only just staying up last season.

He continued: “We’ve got a really good group of lads and we’re all really hungry to do as well as we can in this league.

"We believe that the sky is the limit for us.

"A lot of people won’t be putting us up there but we are the first people to say we’re going to be up there.

"We’re going into every game thinking we have a chance to win, no team in this league we think is going to dominate us in a game, so there's a really positive attitude in the squad.”

Despite being a massive influence on both games recently, the only aspect missing for Dewsbury-Hall is a goal now.

The midfielder managed four in 10 League One matches for Blackpool during a loan spell last season and is starting to try his luck with more regularity, assuming responsibility for one free in midweek which cannoned against the wall.

When asked if he was looking to break his Town duck imminently, he added: “As a midfielder, you want to get good stats, goals and assists.

"I feel like each game by, I’m going to get goals and assists and when one or two come, they’re going to come more and more.

"I'll just keep doing what I’m doing, keep plugging away and they will come, that will be good.”
