Displeased Brabin warms to Hatters’ second half show

A DISAPPOINTING first half performance was overturned by a much better second half showing on Thursday night according to Town boss Gary Brabin as the Hatters won 1-0 at Colwyn Bay in a pre-season friendly, writes Mark Wood.

Brabin admitted that his side had failed to perform during the first period at the newly-promoted Blue Sqaure North side but was please with the way they responded to his half time team talk.

He said: “I was actually disappointed with the first half. We had a good young side out. They are all good young players, have worked hard in pre-season and are in the side on merit.

“They have shown good things when strarting in a strong side and in bit parts and day to day in training.

“We had an attacking side. We had expereineced players with Danny Crow, Matthew Barnes-Homer and James Dance, plus Adam Watkins and young attacking players who have done well of late.

“We didn’t look as convincing in the first half with our passing. I thought the back four could have done more to get possession and defended a lot better.”
