Eight test positive for coronavirus in latest round of Championship testing

The EFL have confirmed that there were eight positive tests amongst Championship clubs in the latest round of coronavirus testing that were announced this morning.

So far, both Bristol City and Brentford have revealed one positive test at their clubs, with Hull City the only team from the second tier to confirm that none of its players or staff were included.

A statement said: "The EFL can confirm that 2213 players and Club staff from the 24 Championship Clubs were tested over the course of the past week with eight individuals testing positive from six Clubs.

"Those players or Club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate in line with the guidelines provided by the EFL and only those who have tested negative will be permitted to enter training ground facilities."

Luton restart their Championship campaign at home to Preston North End on Saturday.
