Emotional Lockyer admits he was nearly reduced to tears after seeing the Luton fans for the first time
Town defender Tom Lockyer admitted he almost cried when seeing supporters in attendance at Kenilworth Road for the first time this season during last week's 3-1 win over Norwich City.
The centre half, who moved to Luton from Charlton Athletic, hadn't played in front of the Hatters' faithful as a home player previously, with fans not being allowed at stadiums due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lockyer revealed that it really hit home with him even during the warm-up, as the Welsh international said: “It was really strange, I knew the fans were going to be in there and it was the first time in front of Luton fans, but when I came out, I got really emotional and I thought I was going to cry!
“I thought ‘what is going on here? It hasn’t been that long has it?’
“But it just reiterates how much fans are needed back in the stadiums.

"With a full house there, it will be electric and something that every player will want to play in front of.
“So long may it continue I say, get them back in."
