Luton have confirmed that winger Andros Townsend has finally completed his move to Turkish Süper Lig side Antalyaspor following the lifting of a registration embargo on the club.
The 33-year-old had arrived at Kenilworth Road last season after a successful trial, going onto play 31 times, his last outing in Luton’s 4-1 defeat to Burnley during their opening Championship fixture this term, scoring once, that goal securing a 1-0 success over Newcastle United at Kenilworth Road in December. However, he agreed to move to the Antalya Stadium last month, but with his new team then placed under a transfer ban and the deal not going through in time, it meant he was left kicking his heels, unsure over when he could play again.

Hatters boss Rob Edwards told Luton’s official website said: “It’s a big thank you and good luck to Andros and we wish him well.
“This move is the right fit for Andros at this stage of his career and is in the best interests of all parties. Andros’ professionalism since he set foot inside The Brache has been exemplary – his discipline and attention to detail is something I hope has rubbed off on our young players. I’d like to thank him for his hard work and commitment to the cause while he was a Luton Town player, and wish him and his family well in Turkey.”
Writing on his official X account about the move, Townsend said: “Soooo many unforgettable memories. Thank you @LutonTown. It was an honour to have played a small part in your special unique journey to the top.”
