Started the 1962-63 Division Two season with a 1-0 defeat at Bury. Drew 2-2 with Southampton and lost 3-2 to Rotherham, before beating Southampton 3-2. From there it was two defeats to Charlton (2-0) and Preston (2-0), before Luton held Stoke 0-0. Was a desperately tough start to life as Luton manager for the club legend with Town a League One side back in January 2008. Lost his first two matches to Leyton Orient (2-1) and Bournemouth (4-3). A 1-1 draw with Leeds United followed, before five straight defeats against to Swindon (1-0), Hartlepool (4-0), Bournemouth (4-1), Leyton Orient (1-0) and Swansea City (1-0).
