Former Luton boss Graeme Jones has been named as a coach at Town's Championship rivals AFC Bournemouth.

The 50-year-old took charge at Kenilworth Road back in May 2019, but found life in his first role as a number one tough, with Hatters bottom of the table when the campaign was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jones was then sacked during the lockdown period, with ex-Luton chief Nathan Jones taking over, eventually keeping the club in the Championship on the final day.

After the Cherries parted company with manager Eddie Howe following their relegation from the Premier League recently, they appointed long time assistant Jason Tindall in his place.

He has reshaped his backroom staff, making former Bournemouth first team coach and defender Stephen Purches his assistant manager and bringing Jones in on the coaching staff.

On the former Wigan and Doncaster striker, who was also assistant at Swansea, Wigan, Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Belgium, Tindall said: "I am delighted to bring Graeme to the club. His pedigree is unquestionable and that experience and expertise can only stand us in good stead going forward.

“Graeme likes to play the game in the right way and has fresh ideas which we are looking forward to implementing on the training ground.”
