Former Hatters target Duane Courtney showed Town what they have been missing as he netted twice for Tamworth in the Lambs’ 4-3 defeat to Luton on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

It was revealed in the build-up to the game that Town had failed with a summer move for the Tamworth skipper.

And he, like former John Still charge Justin Richards, had a point to prove, as the Town chief said: “I like Duane, absolutely. It didn’t work for us, but that’s football.

“Duane, Justin Richards that came on, I said to him, ‘Justin, don’t score.’

“I had him many years ago back at Bristol Rovers and he’s a good player is Justin.

“All games are tough, all games at all levels are tough, we’ve just got to be as tough as we can to get the results.”
