The 23-year-old has made just three appearances so far this season and wasn’t on the bench for the 1-0 defeat against Plymouth on Saturday.

Still said: “Fraser Franks we’ve taken him out of the fray because I think he needs to have a hernia done.

“So we’re going to have to be very sensible about who plays and who doesn’t with the injury situation.”

Centre half Luke Wilkinson was dropped from the starting XI for the clash with Argyle after playing every minute so far as Alex Lacey came in.

Still added: “I didn’t want Luke to pick up an injury because he’s feeling tired, so he’s had a little bit of a rest.

“Luke missed quite a bit of pre-season and he’s played a few games.

“I think he’s done okay, but he just needed a rest to have a couple of weeks of training.

“He trained this week, had a rest, and will train next week and I think he’ll be better for that.

“We probably missed Luke’s power a bit, but he’s felt a bit tired and it’s been quite noticeable in training,

“Lacey needs to have bits and pieces of this season, but he’s going to be a decent player.”
