Luton Town midfielder Luke Gambin has been called up by Malta for their 2018 World Cup Group F qualifier against Slovakia next week.
The former Barnet winger, who turns 24 today, has won six caps previously and is in the 23-man squad for the game to be played on Sunday, March 26 at the National Stadium, kick-off 8.45pm.
Gambin, who has made 12 appearances, scoring once, after signing for Luton from the Bees in January, will be unavailable for the League Two fixtures against Newport County on Tuesday and Colchester United next weekend.
Speaking to the Maltese FA website, coach Pietro Ghedin said: “I believe that we’ve selected the players who are in the best form.
“The objective is to improve all the time.
