Wales manager Ryan Giggs labelled Luton's on-loan Sheffield United defender Rhys Norrington-Davies as 'outstanding' after he made his senior Wales debut in last night's 1-0 National League win against Bulgaria.

The 21-year-old was one of four changes from Sunday's draw with the Republic of Ireland, as Giggs brought in a number of young players, with sub Jonny Williams grabbing a late winner to put his country top of their group.

Speaking afterwards, Giggs said: "Rhys was outstanding and I thought we deserved the win, it would have been a travesty if we didn't win.

"We played so well in the first half, it was just that last bit of quality.

"We kept going which is a good trait to have and scoring late goals.

"It's a really proud moment because that was a young team and, second half it got a bit scrappy.

"They'll learn so much from that tonight, but I'm proud of them because they kept going and kept trying to play the right way.

"We had a few players missing, a lot of experience and a lot of quality.

"But I said it before the game, it gives a chance for other players to come in and they have.

"I know what they're capable of, I see it in training and there were some really strong performances tonight."
