Gleeson looking for victory at York

TOWN defender Dan Gleeson isn’t sure what to expect from Tuesday night’s opponents York City despite the sides meeting twice already this season, writes Mike Simmonds.

Hatters were level at 0-0 back on December 18 when snow forced the abandonment of the clash at Kenilworth Road, while City had goalkeeper Michael Ingham sent off after 15 minutes of the rematch as Town romped to a 5-0 win.

Gleeson, who was back in the Hatters side at Mansfield on Saturday, said: “It’s always tough going to York. They’re a strong team. It’s difficult to know what they’re about as they came to us and had a man sent off so early.

“But we know they’re a big, strong, physical side. They’ve got good players and rightly so are challenging for the play-offs as we are.

“We’ve got to go there, try and be positive and get the three points.”
