Strikes from Jack Marriott, Josh McQuoid and Danny Green saw Luton net three at Kenilworth Road for the first time this season, taking their tally up to 32 for the campaign both home and away so far as Still said: “We’ve scored three goals at home which is absolutely terrific.

“I’m really pleased with Jack, he’s going to be a real asset to this football club, he’s done really, really well. Craig (Mackail-Smith) has been out but I think he’s picked the baton up and it was a good finish from him.

“It was typical Danny Green, he whipped it in, Josh has done well to get the goal and that set us up for some really good football.

“We scored again and played some great possession football, but we’ve got to be able to defend.”

Winger Green was of the same opinion as his manager, saying: “I think Jack took his goal, while Josh got his flick header in and we did that quite well pre-season, linking up.

“He’s really good in the air which I don’t think people realise, he made a good run, got in between the centre halves and steered it in.

“My one just came off a free kick, I chested it and volleyed it. It got a little deflection and went in. Usually I like scoring from distance so it was nice to get a bit of luck.

“I had a free kick at the end that the goalkeeper just pushed away as well, which was a nice hit, I was pleased with that one.

“We had more chances to score as well, so attacking wise it’s a bit of a positive but team defending-wise, it’s a bit of a negative.”
