Goodman admits playing conditions were his toughest ever

Young defender Jake Goodman conceded Saturday’s conditions were the toughest he had ever played in as Luton were held to a goalless draw by Tamworth, writes Mark Wood.

The 19-year-old centre-half, who helped keep Luton’s fifth clean sheet in seven games, said: “Conditions were very hard, I’ve not experienced playing conditions like that.

“It was a good test, but we dealt with it. It was very slippy, slidey, you had to keep your concentration. It was not so much how far the ball goes but keep your feet. It’s the worst I’ve played in by miles.”

On boss John Still keeping the same back four that started against Stockport, Goodman added: “Aingey (Simon Ainge) came in because Ronnie (Henry) was ill and he’s done brilliant since he came in. You can’t change a back four that’s keeping clean sheets.”
