The former Dagenham & Redbridge left back has completed 90 minutes on all but three occasions this season and wants boss John Still to resist the urge to rotate despite promotion already secured.

He said: “Without a doubt, if I wasn’t to start or be in the squad, I’d be devastated.

“I would love to have 46 starts this season, it would mean a lot to me, especially as it’s been a couple of seasons since I’ve played more than 30 games.

“I think the last time I played a good handful of games was when I was on loan at Chesterfield and we won League Two, a few years ago, so it would be tremendous if I could start the 46th game.”

Another defensive shut out could see Hatters brek their club record of clean sheets for the season too and it’s something Griffiths would like to help achieve.

He added: “I’m all for breaking records where I can, if I can score a goal on Saturday I might break my record of scoring more than one goal a season which would be nice too.

“As long as we go there professional before the game and during the game, then we can enjoy the rest of the evening with the fans.

“It’s better to have a steady team, you know who does what, how they do it, but if someone comes in that needs to be temporarily replaced, we get around them and help them.

“Whoever comes in seems to be able to deal with the way we play. We communicate well with each other, so that’s always a plus when bringing new people in.”
