Griffiths: Late goal took gloss off Daggers win

It had looked like Luton were on their way to a fourth consecutive shut out at home only for Christian Doidge to bury a header late on.

Griffiths said: “I should be buzzing, but there’s something that doesn’t quite feel right.

“I know winning the game is great, we’re in a great position, but as a defender, when you concede a goal like that, he directed the header well, but I consider that overall is was too easy.

“I’m very disappointed with the way it happened and the fact that we didn’t keep a clean sheet.

“The gaffer wants clean sheets, we want clean sheets, we strive for perfection in training and on the pitch. If you get it great, like we have done a few times this season, if you don’t, you work harder on and off the pitch to make it happen.

“We conceded a goal that we shouldn’t have done, just like Saturday. The defence needs to tighten up, but we still got the three points which I’m happy with.”

Although off the pitch at the time after being substituted, hat-trick hero Mark Cullen could sense the frustration afterwards, as he said: “I didn’t even see the goal, but lads were really, really disappointed to concede.

“We’ll probably look back at it on Thursday and watch the video to see what we could have done to make it better.

“It’s disappointing to concede but we got the three points and move on to Saturday.”
