Hall makes Town switch at second time of asking

The 27-year-old had been on Still’s wanted list in the summer, but chose to join Championship side Rotherham instead.

However, after playing just four times for the Millers, scoring once, and a brief spell on loan at Notts County, he agreed an 18-month deal with Luton.

Hall said: “I spoke to the gaffer in the summer and he wanted me to come down.

“I had a chance to go and play in the Championship and wanted to play as high as possible, but then it didn’t work out how I planned it to.

“The gaffer got in contact and asked me if I fancied it and I said ‘yes of course’.

“I’d seen how big the club was and known him for such a long time, so it was the perfect chance.

“The main thing is I get myself back playing football.

“I didnt want another half a season where I was sat on someone’s bench, I want to get back to playing regularly.”

It’s the second time that Hall has linked up with Still, after joining Dagenham & Redbridge on loan from Crystal Palace when the Luton boss was in charge back in 2008.

Hall continued: “I’ve always kept in touch and monitored where he’s been.

“I like him as a person and as a manager and have always liked the way he plays football.

“As soon as the window opened, my representative spoke to him and said I was available. I then contacted him myself and let him know, so I’m happy to sign.”

Hall, who was present for Luton’s game against Cambridge at the weekend, has a fine track record in League Two, scoring 14 times for Southend during the 2011-12 season.

On where he hopes to help his new side, he said: “I play anywhere along the front and behind the front man in that number 10 role, that’s my best position.

“I like to think I can add a bit to what they’ve got there already. I saw the game Saturday and they looked very good on the ball, very good.”

Hall was announced to the crowd of 10,054 during the half time interval and was impressed with his reception.

He added: “It surprised me, I didn’t realise the crowd was that big.

“The support when I got out there was really good, I was really impressed. To take 2,500 to Oxford this weekend too is unbelievable, I can’t wait to get playing now.”

The 31-year-old scored twice during the month, against Plymouth and Cambridge, and the winner will be announced on Friday.
