Luton were at the summit for a week recently, but dropped to second place after a 1-1 draw at Exeter.

However, victory over Rovers would see Town back take first again as current leaders Wycombe don’t play until Monday.

Harriman said: “We want to be at the top of the league as that’s where everyone wants to be in their career.

“We were top last week, we’re second now by a point, so we’re going into every game thinking we can win this and we’ve got to keep our confidence high.

“I think the boys here are relishing it, but we’re not getting carried away. We’re going to keep our feet firmly on the ground, we’ll keep working hard and hopefully we’ll get back up there.”

Although Rovers have been struggling this season, sitting in the relegation zone, Harriman wasn’t anticipating an easy afternoon in the slightest.

He added: “You can never write a team off on their previous results. Every game you go in is 0-0 at the start, so you’ve got to treat it as professional as you can.

“You’ve got to go out there, battle for 90 minutes and come out with a result at the end of it.

“They’ve got a new manager which means everyone will be up for it, so we’ve got to go out and try and get a victory.”
