Town’s chief said afterwards: “We had decent spells of control, not control of the game, but control of the ball and we moved it quite well.

“I think that’s possibly where we could have done with Benno just to be able to play off somebody.

“Craig performed manfully for his first game back, but I think Paul holding on to the ball for a little bit might have given us a touch more opportunity around their box.”

Keeper Mark Tyler agreed with his manager, adding: “I think we went a tad long second half, we’ve got some great footballers in the team and don’t utilise them.

“It’s just having that little composure when were under pressure to take an extra touch, just feed off a little pass and then get up the pitch instead of just trying to hit Craig all the time.

“He was a bit unlucky, but he needs someone with him.”
