Luton boss Nathan Jones has demanded a reaction from his side when they host Millwall at Kenilworth Road this evening.

The Hatters go into the game on the back of an awful 3-0 defeat at Stoke City on Saturday, delivering a performance that Jones labelled as 'inept' and the 'worst' of his two spells as Town manager.

Luton are still 16th in the table and eight points above the relegation zone, but a run of five defeats in eight league games means they could still be nervously looking over their shoulder if results don't improve.

The Lions themselves are in good form, unbeaten in eight, and with three wins in four, as Jones said: "I’m definitely looking for one and that will come because we’re got some big games coming up.

"This doesn’t often happen to us, I’m not often really down about our level of performance.

"We went away to Blackburn the other day and lost the game 1-0 but were absolutely brilliant, should never have lost of the game, and I was physically sick for them, but today (Saturday) we were miles, miles off it and that has to improve.

“We always do that though, this is not a group that shies away from the basics.

"We’ve got two tough games (Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday) coming up this week that if we turn in that kind of performance, then I won’t be happy, but hopefully it is one of those games.

"As a professional footballer you can’t have 10 of you, as I’m not sure the goalkeeper lost his battle, but the other 10 that I put out there were way off in every single department.

“So if it happens again then it will be a concern, hopefully it’s just one of those performances we can put behind us and move on."
