Hatters chief Nathan Jones has denied reports linking him with a move for former Birmingham City winger Jacques Maghoma.

The 32-year-old left St Andrew’as in the summer after five years with the Blues, where he made 180 appearances, scoring 20 times

Speculation arose this week that Town were interested in signing the Democratic Republic of the Congo international who was with Spurs, Burton Albion and Sheffield Wednesday earlier in his career.

However, Jones was quick to pour cold water on the story, saying: “We've been linked with a lot of widemen I think, the boy from Ipswich, Gwion Edwards, we’re done in terms of wide players, we’re quite happy in terms of what we have.

“So to get linked, nothing ever surprises me, but at this time, there’s not that interest, without being disrespectful, we’re just not looking.

“We we have Kazenga (LuaLua), Harry Cornick, (Jordan) Clark, (George) Moncur, Elliot Lee, that can play in that area, so we don't necessarily need that.

“It’s just interesting to see us get linked with those when they’re probably not at this time on the list.”
