Hatters boss Nathan Jones has confirmed that all of the out of contract players at Kenilworth Road have agreed to remain at the club for the Championship run-in, with his retained list announced imminently.

The Luton chief has had four weeks to assess his squad since taking over and has now settled on who he wants to help fight for survival in the remaining eight games.

He revealed this afternoon that the squad size will be 22, while out of contract players such as Danny Hylton, Glen Rea, Luke Berry and Callum McManaman, to name four, will be part of that group.

Jones said: "There will be an announcement in terms of moving forward and who we are keeping and so on but we’re going to keep a group of 22 players here.

“It’s a tight knit group with everyone, some people will be disappointed.

“The players that have agreed to play which is all of them, all the out of contract players, everyone who is out of contract wants to contribute now and for the next month to Luton staying in the division, so that’s a real, real positive.

“It’s a good group, I knew it was that.

"It’s an honest group, it is not a pretentious group, they want to be here and they don’t just want to be here, they want to be a Championship player here because they worked so hard to here.

“That didn’t surprise me in any way, I am delighted and it is a relief when they all say 'yes, we want to move forward' and that’s a real big thing and we thank them for that.

"It will benefit them to be in and around and contribute and to do as best as they can for this football club."
