The hosts have made a disastrous start to the season and sit bottom of the table with three successive defeats, conceding seven and scoring just once.

But Still warned: “Over the last however many years, I’ve been in the Football League, people always look at Accrington at the start of the season and think they’ll be down the bottom.

“But they used to say that about Dagenham, and we weren’t, so I don’t worry about what people say, it’s what they produce on the day

“They’re going to get points and all games in all leagues are tough, particularly the fact they know they need to really push on gain some points.

“I’m under no illusion of the task in front of us. I don’t fear teams, never do, whoever they are, I believe if we work hard enough to put all of the things together, we’re a very formidable team.

“We just need to keep working to make sure that happens.”

Still also picked out two players he had been impressed with in the hosts’ line-up, continuing: “I like (Luke) Joyce, I think he’s a decent player and I know the changes were made this year, but he has always done quite well.

“(Tom) Aldred at the back is a steady eddie, but Joyce is a decent player.”

Stanley were hit by a break-in during the week at the Crown Ground game, and on whether he thought that the club could use that in to motivate them for Town’s visit, Still added: “Possibly, but I can’t really speak for them.

“Maybe it does, maybe that will pull everyone a bit closer together like the world’s against us, lets go and show what we can do.”
