Town chief Nathan Jones knows that he has to make some ‘tough decisions’ over who stays and who goes at Kenilworth Road this summer.

The Hatters boss has a number of his first team squad out of contract at the end of the season, with Sonny Bradley, James Collins, Dan Potts, George Moncur, Martin Cranie, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Kazenga LuaLua and Brendan Galloway all believed to see their deals ending.

Jones has already confirmed that Galloway will leave the club after he wasn't named in Town's 25-man Championship squad, but on the futures of the other players, the boss said: “There’s a lot of conversations taking place, but what we’ve got to do is make sure that we’re constantly moving forward.

“There will be some tough decisions in the summer because this is a great group and we don’t really want to lose anyone, but we want to make sure that we are moving forward.

“What we will do is we will have those conversations, some are already ongoing, some we’ve just put on the back burner because different circumstances, because we want to be fair to them, it’s their career as well and some at the minute are emerging and doing really well.

“So there’s a lot of conversations to be hard, but at the minute, there’s some tentative ones, some definitive ones, but everyone will be treated fairly.

“We will evaluate what we need to do moving forward and be fair to everyone.”
