Town turned on the style to dump Championship Wolves out of the Cup at the third round stage last season in a scintillating 1-0 victory at Kenilworth Road.

Following their relegation last season, Wolves enter the competition at the first round proper stage today and Charles admitted there would be a few names he would be looking out for.

He said: “I think the club would probably ideally want somebody at home, but me, I’d either like Brentford away, because as a boy growing up they were my local team, or Wolves home or away because my Mrs and her family are Wolves fans so that would be good for them.

“Ideally it would be nice to just get someone around our level or below to see if you’ve got a better chance to progress but, whoever, we’re in the hat tomorrow and we’ll just enjoy that for the day.”

And Charles admitted he was fully aware of Luton’s cup exploits last season, especially their humbling of Wolves in the third round.

He said: “I’m fully aware of that, it was massive. It’s always nice when you see the lower league teams putting in a good performance, it gets them noticed.

“It pretty much makes everyone take notice of what’s going on around them, it’s not just about the Premiership teams and the big teams that are in the Championship.

“There’s also the non-league, and a team like Luton everyone is aware of.

Town are ball number 77 in today’s draw, but boss John Still is unfussed about who they face.

He said: “Love it, FA Cup, it’s great. Let’s see who we get and hopefully we get a good day again.”

Luton will certainly want a home draw after overcoming a tricky tie at Woking 1-0 yesterday.

Debutant keeper Elliot Justham said: “I think we’re training at 12 o’clock so we might watch it afterwards and that will be good to watch it as a team.

“We don’t mind, we’ll be looking to win it anyway. Anyone at home.”

And young striker Mark Cullen admitted he would love a run in the competition, having not enjoyed much success with former club Hull City.

He added: “I’m not really bothered to be honest. We’d play anyone and we’ll go there and try and give a good account of ourselves and get into the next round again.

“I made my debut in the FA Cup, but in the third round, but we always got beat, so I’ve only really played in the third round twice and that was it.

“It’s FA Cup, it’s a great competition and everyone wants to be a part of it. If we can get a little run, then happy days.”
