Hatters Development side let lead slip to MK Dons

Luton Town let a two-goal lead slip as they were beaten 3-2 by MK Dons in their Final Third Development League match at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Midfielder Alex Lawless started for the Hatters, as did Paul Connolly and the fit-again Luke Rooney.

The hosts made a bright start too, Alex Wall testing Andrew McCorkell with a set-piece, before Luton were ahead after six minutes thanks to Charlie Walker’s right foot finish.

Midfielder Ian Rees went close, while Wall also fired wide, with Walker putting another shot over the top.

Giorgio Rasulo fizzed off target for the Dons, before Charlie Smith’s corner fell to Rooney, whose shot was parried and Lawless put the rebound wide.

In the second period, Wall nodded Hatters 2-0 in front, but MK Dons started their comeback when Kabongo Tshimanga pulled one back on the hour mark.

Sub Osamu Allman’s cross shot was gathered by McCorkell, with the keeper saving well from Wall too.

Town threatened a late equaliser as Charlie Smith’s free kick was turned over by McCorkell.
