Hatters held to Rovers draw

HATTERS: Two goals from Matthew Barnes-Homer and an outstanding performance from 16-year-old left-back Jerome Jibodu were the highlights for Luton Town in their 2-2 draw against an extremely combative Barton Rovers side at Sharpenhoe Road on Saturday.

Both clubs looked at a number of trialists with Barton, in their third friendly of the week after beating AFC Kempston 1-0 and drawing 2-2 with Potton United, using five and showcasing 13 new signings.

Alan Neilson, whose young Luton side was made up of first year pros, scholars and trialists, with Barnes-Homer and Godfrey Poku, said: “I was delighted with the opportunity to have the workout and get minutes into the legs of the players.”
