Hatters issue Dons warning

TOWN’S stars are unfussed about who comes out on top in tonight’s game between AFC Wimbldeon and Fleetwood in the other Blue Square Bet Premier Play-Off Semi-Final second leg, writes Mark Wood.

Dons are clear favourites, leading 2-0 from the first leg and back on home soil, but they have been warned not to take it for granted after Luton almost imploded last night against Wrexham at Kenilworth Road.

Leading 3-0 from the game at the Racecourse Ground, Luton leaked an early Andy Mangan goal before conceding a penalty which, if Mark Tyler hadn’t saved, could well have spurred the Red Dragons on to victory.

Goalscoring defender Zdenek Kroca said: “Before the play-offs you can’t choose the team.

“I think it will be Wimbledon as they are two up. But we were three up and it wasn’t what we thought.”

Striker Jason Walker, who scored Luton’s winner following Kroca’s leveller, will be a keen watcher to learn more about whoever the Hatters face.

He said: “They are both good teams. We were 3-0 up and if it wasn’t for Tyles saving that penalty we would be shaky.

Fleetwood will be going out like Wrexham did to us. I will watch the game. I like watching and seeing what they are like.

“I don’t mind who we get and we are going into the final full of confidence.”

Keeper Mark Tyler predicts a tough encounter whoever the Hatters end up facing at Eastlands on May 21, adding: “We have a hard games ahead of us against either Fleetwood or Wimbledon.”
