The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Ashton Gate, making his debut as a 16-year-old in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie in October 2013, but has only played a further five times, with just one substitute Championship appearance in November 2018.

He is rumoured to be interesting the Hatters, with Daily Telegraph football reporter Mike McGrath reporting on Twitter that a fee is close to being agreed between the two clubs.

Morrell has had loan spells with Sutton United and Margate, spending the 2017-18 campaign at League Two Cheltenham Town, making 39 appearances and scoring three goals, including a long-range stunner in the Robins' 2-2 draw at Kenilworth Road.

He was with Lincoln City in League One last term, featuring 32 times and netting once, before the season was ended by Covid-19.

Despite his lack of game-time for the Robins, Morrell has played for Wales at U17s, U19s and U21s level, making his senior debut in September 2019.

The midfielder has won nine full caps now, starting all four internationals for Ryan Giggs' side this season.
