Luton midfielder Tom Ince won’t be allowed to feature against Stoke City when the two sides meet at the Bet 365 Stadium this weekend,

The 29-year-old moved to Kenilworth Road on loan from the Potters earlier this month and has made two substitute appearances since arriving.

However, the rules of his temporary stay with Town means he won’t be adding to those on Saturday, with boss Nathan Jones confirming: “No, you’re not allowed to play against your parent club when you’re on loan.”

With Ince now unavailable, then Jones may look to include either George Moncur, Joe Morrell and Kazenga LuaLua on the bench, or in his starting 11 if he feels a changes is needed from Tuesday's night’s 2-0 defeat to Cardiff.

None of the trio were selected in midweek, with Morrell not having been in the squad since the 1-0 win at Bournemouth in mid-January, while LuaLua's last inclusion was Saturday's 1-0 win over Birmingham City and Moncur's came in the 1-1 home draw with Huddersfield.

When asked if their absences were down the injuries or just tactical, Jones added: “It’s been a bit of both really.

“Some have been injured, some not quite up to speed, some have just been tactical ones, but they will have a part to play.

“We’ve got 17 big, big games to go and they've got a part to play.

"That’s what we’ve got to have here, everyone ready because at any point they can start and then we want them to hit the ground running as there's no time to play catch up, just like it was at the end of last year when I really did have an impact from my bench."
