Luton midfielder Andrew Shinnie is rumoured to be leaving the club and joining League One Charlton Athletic on loan.

The 31-year-old has struggled for first team football this term, playing just twice in the Carabao Cup games against Reading and Manchester United.

He has only started twice in the league since boss Nathan Jones came back to the club the summer, that during the 2-0 win at Huddersfield Town and 1-1 draw with QPR, restricted to 23 appearances in total last season.

Shinnie, who signed under Jones on loan in June 2017 and then permanently a year later has featured 106 times for Luton, scoring 10 goals, playing a big role in the club's back-to-back promotions from League Two.

Jones did admit yesterday that he might be looking to move a midfielder on after bringing in Joe Morrell from Bristol City and expressing an interest in free agent Andrew Surman, with the South London Press reporting this afternoon, that player could well be Shinnie.
