Hatters odds on to secure Hyde victory

Having been pushed out to 11/4 in the wake of the home draw with Gateshead, Luton are now 15/8 favourites at BetVictor for the Conference Title after their 2-0 success at Kidderminster although the Harriers were left ruing missed chances which must have alarmed manager Paul Buckle, writes Charlie McCann from BetVictor.

The Hatters travel to newly-promoted but unbeaten Hyde on Friday evening in front of the Premier Sports cameras (no me neither) looking to build on the midweek victory, and the important clean sheet, and are a shade of odds on at 4/5 to make it two wins on the road in three days with the Cheshire Club 7/2 and the draw at 13/5.

Stuart Fleetwood is clear cut 6/1 favourite to be the League’s top goalscorer after his three goals in the opening two fixtures and the striker is 5/1 to grab Friday’s opener; ex-Hatter Aaron O’Connor is into 20/1 having also scored three times in his opening couple of fixtures for Newport County who will be deposed at the top of the division if Luton gain all three points.

Despite Hyde’s goalless draw on Tuesday I would be surprised if there weren’t goals at Ewen Fields and we bet 7/10 there are three or more and 6/5 two or fewer.

Buckle’s side were slow out the blocks at home to a decent Gateshead side at Kenilworth Road but stamped their authority early at Kidderminster and the Hatters to lead at half time and full time is 11/8.

Three games in six days should sort the wheat from the chaff and I expect Luton to be top of the Conference table come Saturday morning.

We have a very special offer at BetVictor to mark the start of the domestic football season. Place a treble up to a maximum of £50 on this weekend’s Premier League fixtures and you will get the same bet free for the second weekend of fixtures irrespective of whether your treble wins or loses.

My treble would be Liverpool (evens at Baggies), QPR (21/20 home to Swansea City) and Man City (1/5 home to Soton) which returns £49.20 for a tenner safe in the knowledge that I will get a free £10 bet next week irrespective of whether the bet wins or loses.

Manchester City are even money favourites to win back-to-back Premier League titles with Manchester United 13/5 and Chelsea 5s; Liverpool have been the market movers and we laid a bet of 5k at 40/1 and 15k at 25s from optimistic Reds supporters. Inspired punts or misguided loyalty?
