Hatters quash bike rumours

LUTON Town have rubbished claims that manager Gary Brabin couldn’t attend Selby Magistrates Court last week because it was reported he had fallen off a bike, writes Mike Simmonds.

Brabin had already pleaded not guilty to the two charges of assault and one charge of using threatening words or behaviour during an incident that occurred on Luton’s visit to Bootham Crescent in April last year.

The court had stated that Brabin was unable to attend his hearing because he had been involved in an accident in the Luton area, suffering internal injuries.

But managing director Gary Sweet said: “The barrister representing Gary on the day had an accident and couldn’t attend, so that’s been adjourned to January and we haven’t had a date for that yet.”
