Hatters rated at Wrexham

Second Leg Ratings

Mark Tyler: 7 (pictured) – Could have come for even more to stem Wrexham’s bombardment, but coped well with their rough-housing and made some massively important saves.

Keith Keane: 6 – Everywhere in the opening stages but picked up a knock and then tired before being withdrawn for fresh legs.

George Pilkington: 6.5 – Calmest of penalties proved decisive in the tie and defended well, even if he was outgunned in the air at times.

Alex Lawless: 7 – Town’s most consistent performer throughout the whole encounter. Cleverly broke up Wrexham’s attacks, kept his composure to link play well and won the decisive penalty.

Robbie Willmott: 5.5 – Pace caused Wrexham problems at times, but was too much on the periphery and will need to be more involved come May 20.

Stuart Fleetwood: 5.5 – Slightly stifled in his more defensive role, not too many clear-cut chances, but should have done better when one-on-one with Mayebi.

Jake Howells: 6 – Targeted early on by Wrexham’s diagonal long balls but coped well and saw Pogba off, although struggled against the pace of Cieslewicz.

Curtis Osano: 6 – Assured full-back made several telling headers, although his surging runs forward were limited as he concentrated on defensive duties.

Andre Gray: 6.5 – Ran Wrexham ragged in the opening stages and posed no end of problems, but tired late on as he was replaced by Morgan-Smith.

Adam Watkins: 5.5 – Early booking heavily curtailed his influence and showed his inexperience by panicking at times, but you can’t doubt his wholehearted commitment.

Janos Kovacs: 6 – Largely assured but initially struggled to deal with Creighton being thrown forward, before finally reasserting his superiority as Town clung on.

Greg Taylor (sub): 5.5 – Used his bulk to good effect on the left, but was largely occupied trying to nullify the threat posed by Cieslewicz.

Craig McAllister (sub): 5 – Brought on to add to Luton’s aerial presence and won several flick-ons, even if he was forced too far back into his own half.

Amari Morgan-Smith (sub): 5 – Threatened with his pace and should have won a free-kick before risking a red card for his reaction to Knight-Percival’s deliberate block.
