Luton went down to a 1-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Brentford on Wednesday night. Saman Ghoddos scored the only goal of 14 minutes to seal victory for the home side, although the Hatters deserved at least a point for their second half efforts, missing a host of chances. To find out how the visitors rated on the evening, see below.
1. Simon Sluga: 7.5
Brilliant save from Canos in the first half as he turned over his dipping effort from range. No chance with Ghoddos’s header and then kept Town alive with another stop from Toney midway through the second period.
2. James Bree: 7.5
Grew into the game the more it progressed as after a first period in which he and the team didn’t really get going, became a real threat after the break delivering some excellent crosses that Town should have made more of.
3. Dan Potts: 7
Had his hands full at times in the opening stages as Brentford were on top, but unlike at Griffin Park last season, didn’t buckle. Might have possiby got closer to prevent the cross coming in for the winner, but it was a slick Bees attack.
4. Tom Lockyer: 8
Surprise to see him out there after his head injury against Bournemouth but didn’t show any ill effects with a fine display. Won his one-on-one battles in the second period, before a late red, which the Hatters will now look to appeal.
