Luton saw their four game Championship run ended in a disappointing manner, hammered 4-0 by Cardiff City on Saturday. Town were 2-0 behind inside just nine minutes, with the hosts adding two more in the second period to complete the rout. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
1. Simon Sluga: 5.5
Very little chance inside the opening 10 minutes as he was left badly exposed twice. Two fine stops prevented any further damage before the break, but Luton’s inability to defend set-pieces meant he was a sitting duck.
2. Matty Pearson: 3
Crucially lost Morrison for the opening goal which set the tone for a poor afternoon. Out of position as Cardiff made it 2-0, with Luton alarmingly soft defensively all game, even when moving to three at the back for the second period.
3. Rhys Norrington-Davies: 4
Always offered an option out on the left hand side for the crossfield ball and showed decent control when picked out. Unable to block Harris’s shot for City’s second, while his delivery was often not up to scratch.
4. Glen Rea: 3
Struggled along with the rest of Town’s back-line against a home team who didn’t have to do a lot to break their opponents down. Might be needed back in his holding role to offer a bit more protection in the future.
